I got several CWRs from a local bank in Indiana when I was visiting a week and a half ago. One of these rolls was very different from the others. It was in a completely different type of wrapper, and had unusual writing on it. It reads out to be: .46 31. 25. 10 c I have no idea what it means, except for the 10c. When I opened the roll, a 1967 dime was present. Other than that, it went from 2021-1951, varying dates. I didn't really find anything significant, just a die gouge and a spike head. No other varieties, errors, or die events. Any idea what this means? Is there a puzzle I'm not seeing? The 10c convinced me that the writing must have a purpose. (This isn't really a serious deal, I'm just curious as to what this could mean, and I thought you guys could have some fun with it). EDIT: Because my phone is incapable of taking good photos close up, perhaps a list of the coins would help: 2021 x 2 2020 D x 3 2020 x 1 2019 x 1 2018 x 2 2017 D x 2 2017 x 1 2016 x 1 2015 x 3 2015 D x 2 2014 x 1 2014 D x 1 2013 x 2 2003 x 1 1999 D x 1 1995 D x 2 1995 x 1 1994 D x 2 1994 x 1 1993 x 1 1990 x 1 1989 D x 1 1986 x 1 1982 x 2 1981 D x 2 1979 x 1 1978 x 1 1976 x 1 1976 D x 1 1973 D x 1 1960 x 1 1960 D x 1 1958 D x 1 1951 D x 1 1967 10c x 1 48 coins in total Edited by SilverCents 06/26/2021 8:27 pm

Of the thousands and thousands of rolls I've plowed through, I've come across a number which have had different kinds of markings--numbers, letters, symbols, and even a sketch or two. I don't put much energy into trying to determine what they all mean--the contents of the 'odd' rolls to date have been just average mixes.

Fair enough ijn1944. I see now that perhaps the question I'm asking is folly. Honestly it could mean anything. And without context, it's just a guessing game. Could be an organizing method, marketing, who knows.
But in the end you're right, it could mean anything.

Maybe somebody was keeping track of how many coins they needed to finish a roll. When they got down to 10 cents, they stuck a dime in there because they needed the money for whatever. (and they said I'd never be a rocket scientist)

Bank employees often do this when filling up rolls of coins... and, as they get more in from customers, they will add to them. Saves them a few seconds counting their trays at the end of the day if they don't have an extra 50 pennies sitting around in it.
