I'm still trying to learn and the error coins throw me off, I can't see well as it is, but I'm going to break down and get some books on it because I can't seem to get a straight answer when I search, but I know there are some people on here who know what their doing and really know their stuff... so this quarter I have looks like a Penny was struck on it or, well, I just don't know. I'll just post it and see if I get some answers. I apologize for my ignorance in advance and for the future posts and pics of several other coins I'm clueless about.
@east, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that this looks like surface staining from another coin resting on top of your quarter. Not a mint error, but interesting to look at.

Thank you everyone, I tried to find out if that was a thing too, as in I googled and searched to see if a coin could stain another but couldn't find anything. That's why I came here, you guys are so knowledgeable about this stuff, and I had no idea but I'm learning. Attempting to learn. This must take years of coin collecting, inspecting, searching, researching, squinting, etc. Thanks to all!
