I've had this since I was about four or five and I have tried to research and have always come up with nothing.
Does anyone have any info on this?!
Posed with a Wheat penny as close to the same year as I can get to show size.
1.9 g in weight
Not magnetic
Does not make a noise when dropped
Does not bend
And yes it has looked like this since I received it.

Thank you and happy coin collecting!

@messy, if you are talking about the '43 cent, it clearly states that it is a copy. Are you asking why someone made a copy in the first place?

Yes, it's clearly a novelty 'COPY'. Credit the producer of the piece for indicating that it is, indeed, a copy.
Rest in Peace

Hey yall, ok so definitely not plastic and didn't come from any you sets in my youth. But if it was a toy, I'll have to find out who in my family gave it to me or if I found it in some change. Hopefully one of my parents might know (or remember, it has been 25+ years). It is just the strangest little thing.

I was hoping it had a background history. It is just so tiny and strange!

Possibly some kind of tin or something would be my only guess.

I've seen some coin-like... well... coins at auction that seem to have been used as training tools. By that I mean for tellers or anyone who had to handle large amounts of coins. Perhaps this is one of those?

EDIT: trying to locate one of those listings to see for myself!
