Hello everyone;
I found this unusual Kennedy fifty cent piece .
Has anyone seen anything like this before ?
It most likely be something common I just don't know.
It looks interesting I thought.

Soak it in Acetone for a couple of hours and it should desolve..
Acetone will not hurt the coin.

Yes, an acetone bath. Acetone is your friend (when used according to instructions).

Acetone should work, but some discoloring might remain.

As the others mentioned, acetone works well on removing old tape residue. Several years ago I inherited hundreds of foreign coins my uncle had completely covered with tape on the pages of a photo album. Been kept that way for at least a few decades, but the acetone bath cleaned them quite well. Just make sure you use pure acetone on coins, not nail polish remover. You can find pure acetone at any hardware store.

I tried using acetone it doesn't seem to work I only used it for 20 minutes .I think you are right it is tape residue because the mark fits the same size as as the tape I have here.

It could be glue stick? Someone was trying to post the reverse for a school project. Now the coin shows it had its time in the spot light, now back into circulation. And you found it.
