Yes, it's damaged--likely intentional, but could have happened on a machine/industrial shop floor if it got caught under some moderately heavy item and was slid back and forth a few times.

 with a damaged coin. Someone took a right angle grinder to it.. Please try to be a bit more polite, it will go a lot further if you would like to have responses to your requests. In the future, maybe you should not hold your coins like that. If you think you have something valuable, you would have reduced any value due to the damage you inflicted to it from your fingerprints and oils and acids from your skin. Edit: by the way -

Intentional defacing of your quarter. Next time it's at a bank, they'll set it aside and return it to the mint where it will be destroyed. no mint error here, just post mint damage   to the CCF!
