I found this penny but it is corroded I think but what I'm wondering is if it is corrosion wouldn't it eat more than just parts of some letters and pieces of Lincoln nose you can see the outline of the nose but it's missing parts of it and the color by it looks the same as the parts of the coin without letters or Lincoln's face can somebody tell me just want a few opinions or facts if it is damage ,error or corrosion

To the CCF

That is known as "zinc rot". If the copper plating breaks down,
the air attacks the zinc core causing it to rot.
Get rid of it while you can, it will only get worse.

Post strike damage and a touch or rot. Curious red speckle and bluish band artifacts in your photos..

Agreed, Zinc bubbles that have opened and now it's just zinc rot eating away of your coin. Spend it and keep searching!

Not worth saving. From mid 1982 to date, copper plated zinc core cents often have this problem to varying degrees.
