DDO2 is hard to identify once a little worn (and it has been out for 26 years). None off the three sites shows a late-stage version or describes any markers and the published markers for the earlier stages are essentially gone by then [i.e. right base, left base, date, U in UNITED, etc].

So the easiest/quickest way to identify a possible* #2 is die chips in columns 1 & 2.

* Caveat: markers don't make it a DDO.

certainly looks like DDO-002. Don't have time right now to pull out one of my examples to compare column die chips but I'd say you've got a real winner there.

While the coin looks like an earlier die state, the fake columns missing, tells me the die was polished. It is probably this die though. Just in a different die stage than listed on V.V. You might check to see if they need images of this die state? (Mention the die chips on the Memorial? (Or this die could be a new reverse?)

Yes, this is DDO-2 [attributed] and it uses the same reverse die as previous stages, however, because of polishing and heavy die-flow lines the given markers are either not there or are 'hidden'. See pics.

My reasoning for posting this was only to show others what to look for in trying to identify this variety in a later stage/state than what has been shown on VV and CC (and with circulation wear masking the doubling). These are easy markers to identify.

edit: good idea to send it in.
