To me it's a spender, notice the devices are getting thinner as they go towards the rim = over-polished die and you can see the/a Ridge Ring developing = die deteriorating...that's how I see it

Ridge Ring or coin wrapper damage. I can't decide if it is in or out of the coin from this pic.

Sorry I'm new to this. What does "its a spender" mean? And here is a pic of the whole coin for better reference.

Die deterioration--the classic Ridge Ring. A wrapping machine would typically gouge the coin's surface.

Is this rare? Does this have any value?

I agree with Ridge Ring and no added value. It's a spender means the coin only has face value and can be spent. John1

No, it's not rare and carries no premium, sorry. Throw it back and keep searching!

As you can see PennyPincher, most opinions asse that you understand terms like Ridge Ring, over polished die, coinwrapper damage, die deterior damage. And you have no clue, nor a clear answer to your question should since these terms mean nothing to you. Did you learn anything from your inquiry? I would say probably not. If no one ever tells me what a tractor is,how do I know if it is a tractor? Please share with everyone what you just learned.

A Ridge Ring coin is just a die event. The dies will continue to strike these getting worse after each hundred/thousand/hundred thousand coins struck. It just an aging die. http://www.error-ref.com/?s=ridge+ringTake a look at this site. Then see that is what you have. Yours is an earlier example than most of what we see. But there is not prmeium for these. These are just die events.
