I can see two horizon lines and my other 1$ coins only have one. If so what caused it?

Is-The-1968-1$-Coin-A-Double-Horizon-Line-Variety? I'm not sure what the difference between an error and a variety is on coins and Canada.

When comparing coins, make sure they are of the same year.
All 1968 Dollars have double lines.
I believe yours is the Normal Island Variety but maybe
SPP Ottawa can weigh in on this, he is our resident Nickel Dollar expert

Looks like the normal issue to me. The 74th edition of Charlton has an excellent photo of the variety on page 217.

Ya I don't have another one the same year. And I can't get a close enough look to see if it's doubled. I need to get a good magnifying glass to look at double dies and really fine errors.

Ya I looked at that I can't notice anything different in that picture of the double horizon line. And apparently it's just a polished die not an error. Coins and Canada confuses me

Wrekkdd nice looking coin. here is a 1968 missing island. check the waterlines. I have taken you a couple of closeups for you. so you can see there is different waterlines. but like others have said. some of this is because of die polishing. hope these will help you . I have done alot of searching. the 1968 dollar coins. here is the images.
