Don't know much about toning and nothing special about the coin but I do like the toning on it. I don't think it's natural but though some experts can chime in on toning.

I don't collect "bright and shiny" but it doesn't look natural to me. I had a friend who used to put coins inside baked potatoes in the oven to get colors like that.

I should give that a try lol, I think the toning in this coin is superficial, when I whioed the coin some if the toning came off. You can see it on the high points of the coin in the picture where the toning came off.

If the "toning" came off when you whioed it then it wasn't toning at all but rather some sort of film on the surface of the coin.
Real toning, artificial or not affects the composition of the metal itself.

You can get this type of toning if you let certain soaps dry on its surface, could have also been a gas station coin (left on the ground around a pump) ive seen coins soaked and dried in gasoline look this way and usually washes off with water or acetone.

I cant say 100% what made this coin tone this way but I can say its not natural.
