I have just received this and here are my photos. The obverse has much better lustre than the reverse. I can see half way down a red pencil quite clearly when placed perpendicular to the obverse, and on the reverse I can see it although it is much more 'misty.'. The fields are really bright, especially the area near the cap and behind the head. I think the lustre appears absolutely unbroken above the cap. I look forward to your grading opinions.
I paid $67 including postage.

Good buy,

To me the your pics are showing a nice Morgan with quite a few contact marks obverse and reverse and mild reflective fields. I'd be concerned with what appears to be fine scratches on the reverse at 4 o'clock.

I'd grade it about MS 62.

MS62, obverse looks possibly PL, but the reverse does not, so no PL for me. Reverse scratches at 4K look to be die polishing marks.

I'll say MS-62, possibly 63.

I've been comparing it to loads of other MS62 graded 79s. Take for example this one. I know the strikes are amazing on the 79s, but this example graded by NGC has way more scratches, much more cheek abrasion.
Before posting I thought mine was 63 at a minimum.

I thought MS63 before I read any of the comments, too much noise to go any higher. Now I'm thinking 62 with a possibility to squeak out a 63.

as stated the 79(S) are typically sharp and bold. yours is just a tad short of that with a little flatness around the ear and the breast is not fully struck up. luster looks average but does appear to broken in a couple areas. eye appeal is average and surface preservation is average. Obverse looks MS63, reverse MS64. I think there is a little too many marks and abrasions to make MS64 so I'm net MS63 on this one. this coin is too nice to be in a MS62 holder. it is not PL

the field hairlines at K4 reverse are polishing lines.

My first reaction was obverse MS-62, reverse MS-64, net MS-63 SPL. If the smudge on the cheek is superficial, rather than deep, the obverse could make MS-63, which would lock the MS-63 SPL net. It looks like a really decent coin, especially at that price.

The cheek looks 64, but the obverse fields show a lot of marks. Your photos are not showing much luster and the reverse has some white spots. I am at 63.

Thank you for all the replies. I wasn't happy with the photos as I don't believe they showcased the reflectivity of the fields. I have uploaded a video, which is becoming fashionable on here. What do we think?

I stuck to my guns. I knew this was MS64 when I first received it so I am happy to say that NGC thought so too!

i cant see the red line you refer to probably due to glare. the 79(S) should be sharp and bold and this one is short on both the obverse and reverse in that area. I had the grade on this one MS63+. I think 64 is a little generous. it does have a couple areas of PL surfaces but not quite there.
