I'm very new here so please forgive me for my ignorance on this topic! I recently discovered part of my late grandfathers coin collection up in my attic. It included a couple envelopes of old wheats. I found this one to be interesting as it looks to have some cosmetic damage. Any thoughts or insights on why it would look this way? Thanks for your help!
There's a huge dent on the observe that was created likely long after the coin left the mint judging by the patina. I think there's a grease-filled die error on the 1 of 1956, but it's probably not worth more than 5 cents or so.
