So my grandfather passed away recently an this was given to me I have no clue if it's real or not.


It does not stick to a magnet and Weighs 26.8 grams


Just curious if anyone could give me some information on this as I see there are a lot of counterfeit ones

Sorry, definitive fake. Porous surfaces look cast. Date is incorrect (serifs in 7 and 4 are wrong, shape of 9 is incorrect). Overall devices off, hair is lacking in sharpness, overall bust profile is incorrect, has that "cartoonish" appearance. Just basing on the obverse since the pic is sharper.

Compare this side by side to a photo of a genuine example and it's very obvious.

There are many telltale problems here. Google "1794 Dollar - Images" and compare, for example, the shape of the 9 in the date.
