I'll keep my eyes open, the new notes have so many colours idk if I'd ever notice one missing lol, though serial numbers I'm gonna start looking at, mayb find a double serial or mayb even find one with like a missing letter or number, though I imagine it's as rare as winning the lottery lol.

That is the problem with doubling unless the whole date or the whole side is doubled generally no collectors really care

john100,

Not entirely true at all, 1967 Small cent DDO fetches a nice premium now, so does the 1951 type 2, ive had numerous offers for the 1976 and 1975 small cent DDO's those are just a couple examples. I'm just not willing to part with the 1976 because it is the only example currently known.

Its all about getting them infront of the right people, an I'm not talking unknowing newbies, ive had local well seasoned collectors from my area offer me premiums that some wouldent think twice about accepting.

Just my honest opinion.

Pennies seem to be the biggest collector coins in Canada, though I cannot get any lol unless I buy for a premium so it makes sense

wrekkdd, check your local banks and ask them if they have any pennies you can purchase. Most will say no but there will be a couple that will have no issue selling you some.

As for my comment, I was just giving a general idea that minor to major doubled dies on all denominations are actually very collectible, ive found and discovered plenty for all denominations and they are not that easy to come by, ive searched daily for the past 2 years doing 3 to 4 boxes a week for each denomination, and going to different banks in my area, some being scarce and others being common but overall they all end up demanding a premium big and small.

Nothing that would convince you to quit your day job but point being, the only reason most over look them is due to lack of documentation which I am hoping my catalogue will remedy.

Even the bank so far that puts one and two dollar bills, silver or gold coins(if someone dosnt pocket them) and other 1$ and 50¢ pieces aside for me. Said they weren't aloud to anymore. I'm sure if you knew someone well enough you could mayb but iv tried a few banks for pennies and no luck.

wrekkdd, if all else fails, bring in a couple rolls of pennies and tell them you dont want to cash them but was curious if they would exchange them for the same amount of pennies, it has worked for me at banks that have told me no or that they cant.

Usually it is not because they dont "want" to its mostly because of paperwork and having pennies go missing from the drawer/vault that shouldent be. Ive done it with a couple boxes recently and was told its not a problem anymore as long as I bring some in.

I get that,iv noticed even when I buy rolls with bills they put the money and a receipt in a ziplock bag and write something down before giving me normal circulation customer rolls. But unfortunately I have no pennies lol. Honestly I don't remember the last time I saw a penny lol, well before covid even. My fiance had a little jar 1/4 filled with them sitting outside with her plants for some reason. But other then this(never looked through) also I think they got left when we moved:p

On a separate note that just reminded me that the first time I ever has an interest in coins was the year the penny was stopping. I had alot and was young and was sifting through them seeing if the new ones were magnetic or not etc. After that something made me forget about my love for coins lol,and hunting, and untill I joined the forum here I had forgotten that. Thanks for the memory lol
