Why are the mint mark on the half so different from the other coins for example the dime? An rpm?

Well it can't technically be a broken post on a S mm, but it *might* be minor chips around the mintmark. Any chance on a better close-up pic of just that are?

You bought the set because you liked it. $8 is a reasonable price in my mind.

It looks to be in good shape and $8 is not bad. I would pay that for another 1969 (my birth year) just to have it. I have had two. The original (I got when was a kid) was broke apart to fill Dansco holes. The one I have (intact) was a more recent birthday present from the wife's aunt.

Absolutely for $8 dollars. We share similar interests in two ways. Blue/violet toned nickels and old Fords. The Galaxie station wagon with a 390

Don't know if I can link to it here so I won't but Silvertowne has the 68 proof set for $9.20 if you want to get another. Shipping is another $5.95. If you buy $99 worth of stuff shipping is free.
And no, I do not work for them or am I being paid for this "advertisement". Just passing along a little information I stumbled upon.
Edited to change the year to 68

At $8, if you love one and digg another, you did alright. It was just $8. Just give enough appreciation to the one you love and your soul will be OK.
