The "IN" is master die doubling, you will see it throughout LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. Half or better of the 72's you look at will have this. The "72" is just the design of this year, normal. Go to doubleddie.com and scroll to the very end of the 1972 doubled dies and you will see the master die doubling and a description.

@john1 - I don't know how to do it any other way.
Is it against the rules and/or illegal?

Not against the rules or illegal, just makes it really difficult to see what is really going on. Does your scope have a removable memory card?

Master die doubling happened on about 50% of all the coins from all the mints.

When displaying a photo of the date, please include the entire date. With the 72 we need to see the 9 in order to tell the difference between a master double die or 1 of the doubled dies.

Use the camera in your phone.
Please no more screen shots of your monitor. Please!
You can zoom in with your camera to 6X, which is more than enough.
Monitor shots are too pixelated.
