I inherited a good amount of wheat pennies and some other coins. I know my silver dollars are only worth their weight in silver due to previous person cleaning them. I found this penny today. It is a 1986, no mint mark. I saw this spot between the r and u in the word trust. Is this something that would be considered an error and even if not worth much still cool to hang on to? Thanks and hello to everyone&

There's a zinc core. It is a bubble under the copper plating.
If you have key date silver dollars that were cleaned they will probably still have added value but less than if they were not.
Please post images of your "cleaned" Silver Dollars in the appropriate section of the forum. One or two at a time per thread.

No value beyond one cent, but keep it if you like it.

I agree with all the comments above. FYI: This coin's bister will in time enlarge and brake open, even if kept in the best of conditions. Once open, "zinc rot" sets in and the opening will continue to get larger and larger, and eventually the zinc rot will consume the coin. Not a pretty picture, but a fate that all zinc core cents minted from mid-1982 through today will suffer.

Good condition zincolns will be rare in 100 yrs. Even today nice early 80's are somewhat harder to come by.
