No part of the rim is missing, as far as I can see, smooth edge, with the normal rim, this is inside the rim.

Hard to say with the photos, it looks like adhesive in your second photo in your first post.

Can you see the beads through it?

And as far as I can tell the beads continue under the metal, I don't see any adhesive on the coin, my bad photos lol

Those photos are much better, from what I can tell you have a very thin folded over Rim Fin. I have something similar on a BU 1967 penny, not sure what type of premium if any this would bring.

Shame about the damage on the top of the obverse though, still a cool find none the less!

Thanks @johnwayne007, seems the forum is torn on this one, half PMD half Rim Fin lol. I can't find a folded Rim Fin picture I'll look some more.

Ok I'm getting it now, rim fins usually start standing straight up, and easily fold in circulation, the thinner the fin the easier it folds. If it is a Rim Fin it's fairly thin but a decent size Rim Fin. I think if it was standing straight up it would be a premium, idk in this condition.

You are correct in this assumption. There would be a fairly good premium if it were still standing up but once they are bent over, it is considered damage but might still have a small premium. Still a nice find and a keeper.

Thanks:) yay my first error find:) idk what would be best to do with it, slab?. I'm glad is not fully touching the coin makes it look cool imo, I saw some like this but the fold had been pushed right onto the coin.

OK, I looked up " Rim Fin" and saw that it was caused by a die misalignment. The coin was fully struck as per normal, but a small gap was there because the dies were not quite flush. Because of that, a very thin sliver was made that was, initially, vertical from the coin surface. In your coin, the thin, but long, flattened sliver bent back over the coin. I'd never heard of it before. I said "post-mint" because the coin was fully struck (by seeing all the beads under) so that means, to me, "post-mint". I guess the only thing that happened post-mint was the flat, vertical sliver bent back over the edge of the coin. It would cost a lot to certify it. Keep it as a "find".

Your last pics show it"s damage, even if it is a real minor error again if this coin was in a dealers box what would you pay ?

I'm too new to know about purchasing coins and prices, for me paying above face value for a coin is still a weird idea lol, I leave it up to the veteran collectors to judge coin value.
