Found these in the same box and thought it was pretty cool since it's not a location where I've seen a lot of die cracks. It's also a fairly major crack, so pretty interesting to find two in the same circulated box.

Two in one roll? Was it a mint roll?

I like these.
Is it my tired eyes or are they from two different dies? One crack looks very straight and the other has a slight bend to it. Plus where it enters and leaves the E is a little different from what I can see.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

@Petespockets I think you may be right. I thought at first that one was just a slightly later die state after the crack had progressed a bit further, but after examining more closely, it does seem to be on an ever so slightly different line.

@RobertRansom nope, circulated rolls. I was pretty surprised, even though it now seems they may not be the exact same die.

Very cool Sam! I haven't actually seen a whole lot of die cracks on JNs, especially in that area. And two as well! Great find!

Just a die crack becoming a die break as the die sheds more of the metal off the die. The design is weakening more more and could evtually become a Cud as more breaks away and it splits deeper into the die itself.

You might Cuds on Coins to see if there is a listing for a Cud on that year/mint/area on their listings. If so, you might have an earlier die state of that dies Cud? (And maybe they noticed it, and retired the die before this happened?) On my signature line below, click on the last link for Trail dies and they are also listing Cuds on coins there. (Same group)
