Any thoughts on this "P" mint mark. I realize the 1981P does not have a known RPM, but what is this? Late die state strike?

Looks like a 'P' mint mark with the center post that had been broken off allowing the hole in the P to be filled in

A broken post ( which is fairly common on P and D mm ) are not considered an error as it is just part of the wear of the dies.

Didn't have a chance with all the vending machines and casino machine during that time. Just a wasted coin but still a face coin. (Wasted to us, but still an active "coin citizen". Still doing the job it was created for. To make change, and be to be spent.
