If he was a pro collector and he has all dates in good condition, I'd assume the odds of finding a 47-48 would be low. Imagine he has like MS65+ of those years. I told her those specific years have sold upwards to 50,000$ at auction. I think that's why she would prefer to be there while I search them lol. Originally she was just going to send them over with my fiance.

I'm not much of a Canadian collector, but will note that all pre-1958 dollars have mintages below 1 million except 1939 and 1953.

I talked to my brother in law he took a quick look. But as far as I know, unfortunately it's 7-8 1967 mint sets. Doubt there is an upside-down loon but I'll see if they have any errors. There was bills apparently as well. So that will be some research for me.

In the 1967 sets, the dollar and the 5 cents are known to be rotated from 45% to complete 180%

Why would you tell her something that wasn't true..

A 1948 in ms 65 only books for $17,500..

Not sure of the upset 67 loon dollar, there are around 8 to 9 found and 2 to 3 upset rabbits, the double and triple struck dollars and 50 cent pieces are many like 200 to 300 or more, if the upset versions were custom made there would much greater numbers

We are entering fantasy land here.
There is no such thing as a '67 loon dollar.

Exactly the opposite is true.
The value of true rarities increases exponentially as the numbers struck decrease.
The back door jobbers were doing this for profit not entertainment.

Either way they will be coins older then what I normally looks at:p I'm guessing coins 60-130 years old ish that have been out of circulation for a long time or never circulated, I imagine it will be Canadian currency but who knows. He thought his collection or specific coins were valuable enough to put them in a safety deposit box where they have sat probably 30-40 years so I'm excited lol:)

I hear this all the time, "they are old, they must be valuable", which is rarely the case. Take for example if the 60 year criteria is applied to Canadian Silver dollars of the 1960's. Except for rare varieties, Canadian Silver dollars are worth bullion value.

Putting them in a safety deposit box does not mean they are valuable either. Unless the collector is a pro, what is valuable is pretty subjective. One person's treasures may be someone else's junk.

Obviously wasn't a pro collector, and @ silverwolf I meant the mist expensive ones sold at auction, idk if any MS67+ are out there and even though it's only one example a 1948 apparently sold for over 50,000 in an auction in 2020.

Either way I'm still happy to get a look at the coins and bills.

Unfortunately?...you may change your tune if there are 7 or 8 gold coins in those sets. Good luck.
