Hey was doing some sorting of penny's and came across this 1985 with odd surface on both sides, error? crap? all ideas welcome.

Common problem with early Zincolns: copper plating over zinc dust, or something similar.

The tripled clash is different clash events that made the die rotated slowly as each clash happens and was not polished off.

If you look at the three lines the strongest one is the last clashing. The other two are aging clash lines that were weakened by the strikes between the clashing. Note the dies have been polished a lot. Note the obverse side is almost missing Abe's neck and the 19 on the date was also weakened:
