Are you putting together a circulated type set IGE?

VLDS obverse, MDS reverse, slightly soft strike for Type 1, die polishing evident in the usual areas.
By appearance, the peripheral parts of the obverse look VF-35, but virtually all of that is design (weak LIBERTY on all 1913-14-15 Buffs), die state, and strike weakness. Notice the full calamus on the second feather and hair detail above and below the knot. That detail wouldn't be present on a VF. The obverse is EF, likely EF-45.
The reverse carries quite a bot of the weight of grading this one. The buffalo's head and tail are distinct from the rim. That rules out VF. (On a Type II reverse, the "F" of FIVE and "S" of CENTS would also need to be distinct from the rim, except on a VLDS die. That isn't an issue for a Type I reverse.) The horn and tail are complete, and the tail is nearly split, but not quite. The eye, beard, foreleg, and left rear leg show moderate detail. The hair on the back is more complete than a mid-EF, and suggests AU-50. The balding head is the result of zealous die polishing to remove the spiked head clash, which is still visible running to the "U" of UNITED. The reverse is very close to AU-50, but barely misses.
Net grade: yet another of my EF-48 coins.

I say XF45. Nice looking coin, will be an eye catcher in a circulated set.
