Hi All,

I found about 10 of these in a roll. Not sure exactly about the die issues, need help please.

Obverse:
Mint mark - hmmmmm

Reverse:

RE looks like a die chip with Feeder Finger Damage?

Definitely some die polishing marks in both areas.

Thank you for all your thoughts and comments!

Do all the coins have the "die chip"? It looks like a hit that moved metal to me.

The lines on the fields are called flow lines. The metal is always moving in one direction and the dies start to wear in that pattern. This is normal as the die ages. The 'E' looks like it took a hit. If it were on all the devices, then it would still not be anything by a damaged coin. Doubled dies are enlarged in size on the raised devices, and the doubled dies are seen only certain areas of the design on the single squeeze dies. Same on the mintmark area. Just normal (LDS) later dies state die wear. Just a spender.
