Is this doubling on the second '5' of the date, and possibly elsewhere? The reverse looks MD to me, but I'm not great at identifying the reverse of wheat pennies. I didn't find any varieties that matched the date (if it is doubled). Thanks for any input.

Search Poor man's doubled die. And the reverse is machine damage.

You'd know if you had the famous DDO. This one looks like a poor man's doubled die, which is just Die Deterioration Doubling.

Agree--an early manifestation of the 'poor man's doubled die', brought about through Die Deterioration.
