If it were the 1943s bronze one, then yes, since there are only like 5 of those known. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were asking if you would slab this coin. panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18670 Posts	Posted 08/17/2021 09:29 am Quote: Doesn't the scuff on the reverse at 5:30, the rim damage at 9:00, and the stain at 2:00 preclude MS status? it does not preclude MS status. small scuffs, scratches etc can still be seen on higher MS grades. what you are looking for are signs of wear from circulation. you can even find an MS coin in circulation. keep in mind what MS means. its a numeric grade starting at 70 and deducting any abnormalities. all coins are a representation of a perfect mint state coin. you could call a VF20 coin MS20. the old grading system (Sheldon) used similar categories but the newer numeric grading system implemented in the 70's allowed for more accurate grading and pricing. scratches, scuffs and abrasions are going to appear on every coin except those at MS70. so long as there is no sign of wear on a coin it can grade at MS60 or higher. if this coin was perfect it would grade MS70. the grades assessed above take into consideration those defects deducting them from the perfect 70 Report this Post to the Staff
