As I have been new to looking at coins in found a couple coins that have die crack lines. One dime I found has die crack you can barely see with naked eye but when you view magnified there are several cracks crossing in two opposing directions making an x trough the forehead and hair. Maybe I'm just too anxious to find more than $3 value from a 1990s p&d set

Value for die cracks depends on severity, the more dramatic the more value. Minor ones add no value.

Rarely do die cracks add value, particularly on 20th century coins.
But, at least in my case, they often add interest on older coins.

Different folks mean different things when they say "modern". I've always considered memorial to date modern. Regardless, I think it needs to be extreme to add much of any value. I found several 2019P shields with a nice break at the date and sold them for a hefty premium, for a time but the premium fizzled in a few short weeks.

My personal line in the sand is visibility to the naked eye. If I need magnification to see an anomaly, to me it's probably a spender. If I can see it without magnification, it's a candidate to keep.
