I'm just a collector, starting a set of IHC. However, to make it challenging for myself, each Indian cent in the set must be graded by PCGS, have a CAC, AND also have an Eagle Eye Photo Seal. As a generalization, I'm looking for grades no lower than MS64RB, but for many dates will buy MS65RB or so. For coins dated 1900 and later, generally looking for MS65RD or MS66RD or so. But if you have better grades, please run those by me, as there's an excellent chance I'll buy it. I'll pay strong collector prices, as I don't need to turn these over to a collector to make a profit, as they're for my own collection. MUST be MS and not Proof. Nice eye appeal, problem free. If RB, must have a "decent amount" of Red, not virtually all brown. Here's a hotlink to my set, so you can see what I need: https://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/ha...edset/266583Rick Snow will have a table at the upcoming Long Beach coin show. If you'll be at the show, and if you have CAC'd Indians you're willing to sell to me, contact me PRIOR to you attending the show. We'll discuss your coin(s), and if we agree on price, I'll then buy your coin if Rick agrees that coin will get his Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Will only buy from someone in the U.S. with a U.S. mailing address. Please message ANY questions. Steve (Winesteven)

Right now I have only six coins. It's listed in both the PCGS and NGC registries (#130 PCGS, #77 NGC). These registry sets are for "Circulated" coins, meaning NON-Proof, not meaning not MS.

Like usual your set is BEAUTIFUL https://www.NGCcoin.com/registry/co...sets/346792/With your 6 coins you are a much higher level than me with 26 coins (well about 35 since Anacs doesn't count in the Registry set.) I can't wait till I see it finished :)

Wow. That's incredibly ambitious and is going to be a wonder to see. And worth a couple of fortunes when done. I'm NGC set #73, but I'm only trying for MS-62 or better, only have 1 CAC and 1 Eagle Eye and I'm finding that hard enough to do.

This is certainly within reach. I completed this set in 64RB or better (including an 1877 in 65RB) over an 8-year period, many from Rick Snow, but certainly few had both both a bean and a photo seal. To me, these are illogical handicaps to impose on building a choice certified collection.

To me it's not illogical at all. If a coin merits a CAC, to me that means the coin is both solid for the grade, and also the surfaces have not been "messed" with. Rick Snow uses his "PDS" grading system to assign his Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Five points for each of the letters. "P" stands for the Planchet state (distractions, hairlines, wear, marks, etc.). "D" stands for the die state. The newer and better condition the dies are in when YOUR coin is struck, the better. The older and more worn the dies are when your coin is struck, the worse. Finally, "S" stands for the quality of the strike. The better the strike, the better that is.
I don't know about you, but even though it will take me many years to complete this set, I prefer having my coins solid for the assigned grade, surfaces that have not been messed with, good planchet condition for the grade, a coin struck from dies in good shape, and a strong strike!
Yes, you can determine many of these factors on your own. However, many of the coins in my set will be in higher grades where I anticipate the cost to be around $1,000 or slightly more. The question that you should ask if buying a coin at this price point or higher (or maybe even $500 or higher) is if the coin you're buying doesn't have a CAC, why not, especially since the cost to obtain one is only $15? Rick Snow also charges only $15 for his Photo Seal, and charges NOTHING for coins that don't merit his PS.

Is Rick Snow even in business and offering Photo Seals any more?
His web site has been inactive for more than 6 months.

His web site has been inactive for more than 6 months. I picked up a coin via Rick's ebay a few weeks ago. It was a newly listed Snow variety and info on it was just included in this month's Fly-In Club Ledger. So he's still around, at least on some fronts.

The once-iconic web site Eagle Eye Rare Coins has been down since the beginning of the year.

Unfortunately Rick has had a legal issue since this past January. Without going into any detail, I know Rick is a good and honest person, and is top notch in my book, and a positive asset for our wonderful hobby. He has recently moved his shop in Tucson, and is presently emphasizing buying and selling bullion. However, throughout this difficult period when he was prohibited from freely selling inventory, his Photo Seal services remained fully operational. He's also recently started selling some numismatic coins. I'm guessing, and hoping, that aspect will continue to grow.

While I didn't attend the ANA show in Rosemont, surprisingly I was able to get quite a few newps for my set: 1. My online research found that Liz Coggan had three great Indians that had CAC's and Photo Seals graded by PCGS in the grades I wanted with real nice eye appeal! Bought! 2. A total of 10 coins were found between Seth Chandler of Witter Coins and Charmy Harker "The Penny Lady" that had CAC's and looked real nice, but had NO Photo Seals. But Rick Snow had a table at the show, so I said to Seth and Charmy that I'll buy their coins at our negotiated prices (plus $15 each for the Photo Seal cost of those that qualify), but ONLY if they bring those coins over to Rick's table, and he says they'll merit his Photo Seal. Six of the 10 coins did get the Photo Seal, so those coins were bought, and then left with Rick to take home with him to Tucson to apply the seals and make the plasticized Photo Seal cards. He'll drop ship them directly to me. 3. I spoke to Rick in advance of the show. At the show he bought an Indian that had a CAC that was also nice enough for his Photo Seal. He called me up right away, and I bought that one too. So to my surprise, I was able to get 10 coins at that show for this challenging set. Here's a hotlink to my set. Please help me add to the set if you have coins that meet my basic criteria as described in my original post above. Although most of the coins you see in my set are higher grades, I'm also good with lower priced coins grading like MS64RB or so. https://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/ha...edset/266583Thanks. Steve
