Just wondering on ebay they have auctions for a 1969p bu gem starting bid .99 cents. Would this be to much to pay for these type of coins. Also have a 2007s Lincoln Memorial cent starting bid is 2.99. Wondering if this would be a good buy or if it would be to much. What you think.

James, welcome to the forum, I would look at it this way, one of the only ways you are going to get the 2007 in bu condition, is to roll search and find a BU, or buy the coin it self like you are saying on ebay for $2.99 or buy the mint set and break it up and, if you collect more than the cents, you could use the rest of the set for your other albums, or sell off what you do not use from the set you buy.i collect mint/proof sets and the 2007 mint set is around $27.00. What ever you do, enjoy the whole experience from locating the coins to placing them in your albums and enjoying the view, when you have done so, good luck, Mike...

Please post a link to the auctions. The shipping cost should always be factored into the cost. Also good pics are a must.
If these are certified (slabbed) coins and the shipping price is very low then the price is fine!
If they're raw with $4.99 shipping, the price is high!

Just go to the bank and get some rolls. Eventually, you'll find these and probably in better condition.....and definately cheaper. LOL

It has free shipping. I just bought the 1969p for .99 cents. I tried to post a link but I cant get it to work right. It will post the information but not the pictures. They look good a lot of luster to them.

Buying single LMCs on ebay strikes me as needless because of shipping costs. The easiest place to find these is by going through dealer's stock at shows. There I've bought a nice set of 60s-70s UNC LMCs for .25-.50 each.

BadThad,
You mentioned about getting some rolls from the bank and finding a 2007. WOuldn't these have to be circulated? Is it possible to deem a coin to be uncirculated just because it still looks like a bu even though it was in circulation?
Thanks for your help, Fred

Oh no, do not ask that question on this forum :) :) JK, any question is a good one. It is my opinion that you can find BU coins in circulation! There, I said it!

A coin is uncirculated until the luster is broken on the high points. A Unc 1909 penny could still be found in circulation if no one saved it and it was always handled by its edge. Of course this is impossible because someone would grab it and everyone wouldn't handle it carefully.
Usually coins can trade hands about six times before the luster becomes broken. Of course most cents will just get tossed in a jar and if the jar gets moved around a lot then the coin will become worn. If it sits without being disturbed it might be released years later and still unc.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
