I'm new to coin collecting, I've been looking at mint sets and found a few off set dimes. Nothing to severe but one edge flattened other fat. I'm assuming this is fairly common since I've found three So far?

Please supply pictures of the Obverse and Reverse.
It is easier to look at something then have someone try to explain it.

Please provide a picture. One persons 'minor offset' may be another's 'major offset'. So seeing what you are referencing will make it much easier to answer your question.

I believe coins with the characteristics you describe are fairly common; I've come across literally dozens of dimes in circulation with the same appearance you describe. I spend them.

Looking at the coins you posted up are normal all worth .10 cents each. What you should be looking for is an offset so far that the devices on the edge of a coin has moved off and is no longer visible to have a premium and be collectable.

Yes thanks that's what I thought I just wanted to confirm cause is see similar dimes on ebay trying to sell for extra money and I don't trust ebay sales alone for learning!

ebay is a good source to see what stuff sells for....you just have to check sold items. Just because somebody lists a coin for $5000.00....doesn't mean he's going to get it.

The dime being so small, the slightest bit off looks drastic compared to the larger coins.
