Not sure why Variety Vista and Wexler don't have this variety listed, I don't think that it is necessarily hard to come by and it has strong doubling.

I see the thickening of the letters of Liberty, but not in the date - at least not with the provided pictures...

Could you be more specific about where the doubling shows? I looks petty normal to me.

Very nice example. The date shows it better than the rest of the coin, in my opinion, the tail of the 9 especially. While dissing VV and Wexler, why would you still use VV's attributing vernacular. It's 1933D-1DO-001, if you are going to give cc credit for it, which they obviously deserve. Excellent addition to your collection though.

Here is an extremely, high end coin, with no hub doubling. Compare to CentSation's coin and tell me you see no difference.

It's definitely a Class VI DDO, and mintmark position seems to match, so I'm inclined to agree that it's 1DO-001. That said, there are often many of these minor to moderate extra thickness DDOs for a given year, and many are unlisted, so if you can also match a die marker or two, that would help to confirm.

As for why VV and wexler don't have it - no one has sent one to them yet. They can only attribute what they have, and even the most hard core coin roll hunter will never find every single die variety, so these attribution sites depend on other hunters to send coins in for attribution.

Anyway, congrats on the find!

SamCoin, wrong here. I sent one of these to Dr. Wiles in great condition and he called it "too minor to list". I think I even posted my objection to that ruling on the coin on CCF.

I am finishing up my final bat site for the summer, starting tomorrow and it takes two good nights without rain to get it in. With luck will actually be mostly home for a month instead of living in tents and motels. Will be more helpful when home. But at almost 6am need to get to sleep.
