Good morning! I came across this SBA dollar would like to know if anyone else notices the date. Its closer to the rim and the eagle on reverse side seems to have alot of detail . just wondering if I can get some input on coin.

You have what is known as a "Near Date" Susan B. Anthony.

Late in 1979 the obverse was redesigned to enhance the look of the SBA, resulting in a Near Date and a Far Date design. The Far Date design has a larger gap between the date and rim. This only effects the coins minted in Philadelphia, as the other mints used only the far date design in 1979. The Near Date (your coin) is the more desirable of the two, and commands a higher premium due to the low number of coins that were produced with this design in 1979.

You may want to check the Sold Listings on ebay to get an idea of the value of the two different designs.

The reverse is the same on all of the SBAs, it may be that your coin was just a stronger strike.

The Near Date design was used for all of the coins minted after 1979.

Nice find! Always check 1979-P SBAs for the wide rim/near date. I very recently stumbled across two myself. Congrats.
