Used for poker chips or old age and oxidation. I believe its called tarnish.

Hard to tell the true colour when you have dark photos on a red background.
Use a contrasting background.

The type of light you use will influence the finished colour. Use regular indoor lights and the result is orange. Daylight gives you the best "true colour" plus defuses the light, so if possible, use daylight without any other lighting source for the best results.

Looking at the ese it looks more like dark red but I noticed 2 silver lines

Dunno, just looks like a corroded EF 1955-D cent of little value.
