Another 'old friend' in my collection, but now with newer pictures which truly reflect the way she looks in-hand.

How would you grade her based on these new pictures?
Please note 2 very thin hairlines below the head of Miss Liberty. Difficult to see and only evident under a strong light.

Thanks!

And yet again, another beautiful example! VF30/35 for me.

Amazing coin. I think it straight grades at VF-30. It almost hurts to keep it at 30. Obverse just isn't sharp enough. That reverse though. Wow! This coin should fetch EF+ money.

Great coin, nice original look, super reverse with weaker obverse as noted. Faint old scratch across Liberty's neck doesn't detract. Strong VF but probably can't make XF based on the obverse weakness (plenty of wear, along with soft strike). Another winner for an outstanding circulated type set!

Do you have any thoughts about the area in front of Liberty's face? Almost looks like her profile is doubled. Possible old pitting from environmental exposure, or just toning?

Thank you all for your comments.

@Jaobler, regarding your question about a doubled profile, it is only the toning
that may be making it look that way.

Only 2 varieties are known for dimes of this year, JR-1 and JR-2. This is a JR-2. One obverse die paired with two reverses.

The 'Bust Dime Variety Identification Guide' says that the dies were severely pitted , specially in the fields in front of the bust. This shows as two thin parallel lines running from the chin of Miss Liberty to the stars.

reverse in the XF40 range. obverse VF30. I feel good netting this one at VF35 and a fine example of a very early dime.
