@jrey, first welcome to CCF. Second, it is a little hard to tell from this pic, but I do note that the '69-S cents are rife with great examples of MD. I suspect this is one too.

That is not a Doubled Die, it is Machine Doubling.

Typical Machine Doubling. Even the big DDO examples, most examples show the Machine Doubling as well.

This was very common on the 1968-1972 cents. Just a normal die coin with MD added by the machine after the strike. On a doubled die, the hub doubling is on the die. It doesn't happen by the machine, but by the die. (otherwise, the reverse would be showing the same thing) Its not, it is on that die.
