Well, I took the Morgan collection as far as I care to lol. Back to the Civil War stuff. Just snagged this for $300 under PCGS book. I was surprised, I made the offer and he took it LOL, should have gone lower. Sellers pictures. Whats your grade and designation guess? Thanks !

Hint, I never buy anything in plastic that doesn't straight grade.

I'd call this one MS64, spots on the reverse detract and keep it from BU, IMO. As far as color, too hard to tell from the pics. Maybe RB?
That said, I think PCGS called it MS65, again maybe RB

This is a hard one using these photos. I like to see clearly the 4 diamonds to be graded a strong MS. From what I can tell from the pics, AU58 to MS62.

I was going to post the True View pictures, but most say they cant grade from them either, but in that picture, it's REALLY redish, Ill post the in hand pictures. Those little splotch marks dont really detract that much in the those pics.

Great fancy 5!
I played with the pictures a bit. I think the photos make the color look a bit off, but in hand, the actual coin will have natural surfaces.
There is a bit of a soft strike, LMDS with some impressive die clashing, and moderate die polishing. I see very few contact marks here, and what I see are small surface marks. There is light cabinet rub on the cheek, and that holds it under MS-66. From what I can see, it looks like a rock solid MS-65 RB.

I found a previous auction this coin had been auctioned at, and their archive pictures are better. Good breakdown @ftcollins

I'm between MS64/65 red, there is something on the coin that makes it look like it has bubbles or some kind of marks but I can't say what it is with the picture. While I doubt it, I have to ask Is this a cast counterfeit?
