It looks like a silver dirhem of Harun al-Rashid (786-809 AD), Caliph of Baghadad, minted in Tashkent, now in Uzbekistan. However, I suspect that it's a copy. Replicas of these coins were widely distributed in the UK in the 1960s as part of an advertising campaign by a company called Nicholas Laboratories. They are also popular tourist souvenirs owing to their association with the '1001 Nights' stories.

What is the size and weight? I'm not sure it is fake but your photos aren't clear. Apparently, the ones sent to doctors were fairly obvious fakes.

I have a similar dirham:

Harun al-Rashid Dirham, 805-806

Madinat al-Salam. Silver, 21mm, 2.99g (SICA III, 1698).

Hi thanks for replies.

In terms of know the coin or know the seller I know this seller in person and this coin was in a job lot and all the Roman coins in the lot are genuine. I just don't know enough about this coin and 1 other ill post about soon.

My scales are broken so I used the wifes but they only measure in grams it said 3 grams not sure if that helps. I have attached better photos as well.

Madinat al-Salam (Baghdad) mint, AH 189. Extremely common type and mint. I see no reason to suspect that it isn't genuine.
