Is this a error In 1961 in-between 61? Any help would be appreciated.

Given the one photo posted, it appears the 1 received a hit while in circulation--notice the N-S gouge in the 1. Copper, being a relatively soft metal, can be 'moved' when hit.

I agree w/ ijn1944. Even if it were a die chip, it wouldn't carry a premium.
