I bought a $25 bag of these quarters direct from San Francisco when they first went up for sale. Most have similar M.D. as seen in the 2020 America quarters. This one is an exceptional strike compared to the rest. Except it appears to have a small double ear, maybe. What do you think?

Great images. But this is Machine Doubling also. Note the affected area is reduced, not rising above the designs or fields.

Note how all of these affected areas are raised. Not flat shelf like.
If the other devices on the right side of the obverse are not affected, this was probably a higher bounce that only affected just that area of the design.

From my understanding they still sell for more than face value.

Only the untrained buy these. To me I would not sell them. When they learn later they were taken for a ride on these, they will not be happy later. I would rather "train" than skin a new collector.

There might be some MD that sell for a small premium, it would have to be quite a bit of MD.

I agree with coop.... only those who don't know better pay above face for Machine Doubling. If that was the case, there would be a lot of rich coin searchers. Machine Doubling is not an error, it's simply a damaging die event.
