Is it a collar clash on both sides of the coin and to me it just looks like a Rim Fin because the edges are jagged. I'm well aware collar clashes hold little to no premium as an error but are fairly rare, so would a double collar clash be exceptionally rare lol? Also I have never sold a coin and I never spend my americain coins I pull every us coin I find from circulation and horde them lol. I apologize for debating with a pro like yourself mike, I'm still a learner, I just kept questioning because I'm being told something is not what I think it is but not being told what it is.

As I've already said, your dime shows two areas of collar clash on the obverse. That is relatively rare, although there's little market value attached to it. A fin is not defined by jagged edges. It is a thin vertical flange that extends upward (or downward) from the rim/edge junction. It forms when coin metal flows in the narrow gap between die neck and collar. Now that you mention it, the reverse face does seem to have a low fin around part of the perimeter. I think I've said all that can be said about this specimen.

Thanks Mike I understand exactly what has happened to cause this coin now. Though it took more reading then I'd normally do in a night after work. And as I was hoping for it's a double collar clash:) and the fin on the reverse I see on many coins. But to have a small rim fin/MAD coin with a double collar clash, even if not valuable... If it's 1/10000 it's a great find:) if it's 1/100000 it's amazing if it's 1/1,000,000 then I'm super surprised. So even if it's not valuable if it's uncommon then it's a great piece.

First one I've seen. A collector might want it, just to have one. But price? (I have no clue.)

Out of curiosity since you pros haven't seen many or any how rare is this die event? I realize it's not an error or very sought-after, but I'm curious how rare this is.

Wow. that's surprising coop, considering I found it on an American coin, and I mayb have 1 -2 rolls of dimes I've pulled from circulation.

Do you think there would be a small premium on a coin like this? Or would it just depend on if a collector even wanted it I could mayb sell it for a few dollars? Just kinda trying to get a Handel on what it's worth if anything. I feel like I may have seen another double collar clash coin on this site but I can't find it. If you experts had to be guess how rare is this die event? I'm surprised coop has never seen one. Mike Diamond never mentioned if he has seen this either. I see some collar clashes have sold on ebay with a bit of a premium, though I have no intention of selling anything on ebay ever and there is sold listings for just about every type of error/variety/die event that I can think of.

So no one knows how rare of a die event this would be(probability). And I guess even if it is super rare with die events it's all in the eye of the beholder(me) and the eyes of any numismatic collector of die events that would decide what it would be worth if on the market. I would just like to know if it's like 1/1,000,000? 1/10,000,000? 1/1,000,000,000? Even if there isn't much of a market for this if any it would be nice to know for my own knowledge.
