Im looking at this, and wanted to see what your thoughts are. This is such an incredible die clash, but they are wanting $150 over PCGS book. I've made several lower offers that have been ignored.

You think it is unique enough to pay it?

Ive never seen one the like.

I would not pay over book as when it comes time to sell, you will most likely take a loss.

I'm also "working" on assembling a 3CN set. The series is riddled with cool clashes and die cracks/breaks. Cool rotated clash on this one! Almost a full silhouette of the obverse bust. I personally wouldn't pay a premium unless I also felt it undergraded, or possibly in a higher grade, MS65ish. This one looks MS63 to me. BUT it's personal preference, certainly wouldn't shame you if you picked it, it is a cool clash! Now if only there were a few more die breaks to go along with it!

@farrider, what's this one graded?
Edit: disregard. Somehow missed the entire title after 1865 3 cent

I've seen incredible clashes on these. If you're satisfied with price paid, that's what counts.

Thanks coinfrog, I said it before, something is only worth what some one is willing to pay for it, and when he dropped the $50 it was good enough for me. That clash is SO clear, had to have it.

I don't make a habit paying over book, but that one I hade to have ;)

@numised, the entire outline of the obverse face is visible on the reverse, on top of that the reverse is completely rotated 180 degrees

And that's why the seller had marked it well above Greysheet.
