Some New Finds From This Week 9/4 - 9/10

CaptJeffWorthFL Valued Member United States 247 Posts	Posted 09/11/2021 01:05 am First here is a 2021 P Tuskegee with what looks like a die clash over the left side of the goggles. I found this same exact error on 7 in a full roll of Tuskegee quarters. Another one I found was on a 2015 P Kisatchie on the claw of bird. 2007 P Wyoming quarter hat has an error I found going through a roll of them. This is on a 1999 P Delaware IN "OD" WE TRUST And lastly a 1996 no mint mark Lincoln Cent with a Clash through the M in America. Any input on these is always welcome and appreciated. Next time make three separate topics for each coin. Also, some of the pictures are extremely zoomed and not upright. It is easiest to have a picture for both the front and back of the coin, and maybe one or two close up photos that show the spot of interest. Suffering from bust half fever. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/11/2021 4:10 pm Also other images are showing Machine Doubling. Note the areas: 1. Outsides of devices. 2. Contour is removed from that area, leaving it flat. 3. Make sure to check the listings on the sites to see if any DDO / DDR doubling happens on that area or not. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/12/2021 9:14 pm Those are die gouges. Feeder Finger Damage is located more on the central area of the die. This can be affected, after the damage wears the central area first. Die gouges are cause during die handling or polishing. Contact looks huge on the die in a scope, by real i.e. A very small mark. Consider the size of the affected area, that is how small it really is. Possibly not see with the naked eye. Report this Post to the Staff

Quote from error-ref.com Die scrapes are a form of die damage that is caused by the feeder finger scraping across the anvil die. Die scrapes appear on a coin as closely-spaced, parallel ridges. It is a form of die damage that's usually caused by the feeder finger scraping across the anvil die face. Die scrapes also sometimes appear on the hammer die.
