Hello,

I have a 1926 D I am grading. Let's see if I am learning anything from you all. I am estimating this is AU - what do you think?

Someone suggested I change my crop - I figured out how to do that for the second image. Hopefully looks a bit better.

I could go with VF30. Photos are a tad dark and may be masking important details needing to be seen. Shooting through 2x2 mylar usually presents difficulty.

My old pics got erased somehow - not sure - but new pics out of flip are here - does this change any opinion on grade?

Stain could well detail it.

Not saying it's not a nice early Wheatie , but it's just not an AU .

Strong VF30 for me. Reverse stain is unfortunate. Would be a good hole filler.

VF. Stain on the reverse would probably details it.

IMHO, the reverse details the coin. I agree with VF-30 as the technical grade, if the ED didn't detail it. Since the dark stain isn't on the obverse, I wonder if the entire reverse was the color of the stained area and a chemical was applied to part of the reverse to remove it?
