I am not seeing any doubling. Where are you seeing doubling? Have you checked all three reference sites we all use?

The devices into the rim areas is on all of the 1968 cents, even proofs. The old master hub was swelling, wonder on the 1969 cents the had to recreate a new master hub. Thus when you compare the devices on the 1968 cents with the 1969 cents, the devices are different sized because of the swelling of the old master hub .

Note the size of the busts on the two years. That is the swelling of the master hub issues. Thus the new master hub put the design where the devices were supposed to be. Note the differences between the motto devices on these two years. Through many years this was happening. It should probably have been done many years back when they tried to enhance the aging master hub. Remember channeling to enhance the bust design? On the 1960's, the engraving on the neck was altered. This should of happened years ago, but was finally done on in 1969. So the devices on your coin are normal sized. But compared with a 1969, they appear larger. All normal for those years, because of the recreation of a new master hub.
