Im new here. I found a 1947 d penny while searching through a 50 dollar Wheat penny bank bag of pennies. It looks like it has seen better days but I can't determine if it is damaged or if it is a really really bad die break. What does everyone think? Any help would be appreciated!

@jtc, first welcome to CCF. Second, this coin has been grit blasted or something to give it that surface texture while it also has been bent. That is not a die crack/break but rather damage.

The coin is damaged. These are consider cull coins. More of just a Wheat cent now. Cleaned to death, bent and damaged.

Can't rule out exposure to acid. And yes, it's bent.
