Picked this up off ebay thinking it was (class 2) DDR-2 -- Nope.

It is (class 2) 1DR-3, which I didn't have a copy of either: Now I do.

A very nice pick-up. The dots in EPU look vaguely oval, but pretty hard to see from your current overall pics. Consider adding to this thread one or two close-ups of the doubling.

Here you go.

Tough getting convincing pics of the doubling because of the die state and my scopes LED lighting. It seems to show up the best on the E so not sure why the plate coin pics don't include it. Bob did a good job with his pics.

Also included a couple of markers.

Those are great close-up pics @cent. As I understand it, sometimes ovalling of the dots is the most pronounced indicator of doubling.

Yes, I believe most will say the first thing that catches their eye would be the 'smeared' look of the first dot.
And that is what I saw in the seller's pic [first pic], though it seemed more 'oval' than it turned out to be. I also compare the thickness of the horizontals vis-a-vis the verticals. Mostly on the L and U, but my pic shows it on the B and U [white lines].

For great close-ups, you have to try Ray Parkhurst's site:
