Unfortunately, your Roosevelt dime is a victim of Post Mint Damage, or PMD as it is better known as. Whatever happened to your Dime occurred after it left the mint. There is no telling what caused the damage you are seeing.

I agree with @bump that the letter O is damaged.

Added: the number sixes in the date look a bit flattened at their base, perhaps due to extensive circulation. The tops of the numbers look pretty normal to me.

I don't see any excess metal but I do see lots of circulation damage.
Still worth 10 cents though.

The circled ends of 66 (date)--as shown inn the last photo--are normal elements of the dime's design. Agree with other comments above.
