The bank put aside a coloured ad non coloured one for me today so they are circulating now. Not my favorite coin though, much like the insulin toonie it's kind of Just confusing to look at. No idea what the significance of the weird red blob is. I'll post some pictures when I get home.

Thanks for letting us know. Look up the "red blob", there is a background story to it.

I took some pictures on the bus ride home. Unfortunately a big finger print on one of them so I'll have to find a better one for keeping but I'll inspect this one first.

EDIT: the red blood is a moose I assume(have no looked it up yet) but what's with the giant curve protruding from the top of it? Looked like a moose key chain or something. Either way idk how it connects with the Klondike gold rush.

Very odd! IMO its too "busy" of a design to try to squeeze onto a coin that size...like you said...confusing.

Well..then again...if the artist/designed makes a moose that has a funky curve out of the top of it...maybe its meant to be confusing

There is a nice story behind this coin, it's nice to see that they added the indigenous peoples struggle from the gold rush as part of the design. There is a lot going on and it is a little confusing but they did that on purpose,if you don't know what the picture is about then you are more likely to look into it, and learn the story from both sides.

That being said the weird hoop on the top of the moose is still making me scratch my head lol.
