Hey everyone . I came across a coin that seems to have so much going on with it that I wanted to bring it to the table for your opinions. It is a 1999 P Georgia quarter that stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all the other State Quarters. It almost looks like the silver coins I had laying beside it because tone and what appears to be tarnishing. It also appears to have a few spots of light rusting. It does weigh 5.60 grams for reference. The rim is especially wide in comparison to other State Quarters. It looks to have tons of doubling on both the obverse and reverse and even along the edge of the coin. Now here is where it gets interesting. In different lighting you can see what looks like letters for what could gave been another type of coin, including a very clear "V". Also, inside the letter "o" on the word "of" there appears to be a stamped letter "B". I may be wrong about some things or may have missed others so please pardon these layman eyes but any feedback you may have would be much appreciated.

I don't see anything on your coin that can't be attributed to circulation wear and damage.
Those extra letters that you are referring to are impossible to happen. Devices are permanently
engraved in the die so " ghost letters " just can't suddenly appear.
5.6 g is also within tolerance for weight.

Don't forget that these coins were churned out at high speed by the millions
so every coin will not be perfect.

I totally agree with JimmyD. I see just circulation wear, no errors on this one, sorry.

So when you guys zoom on the pictures you aren't seeing doubling in the spots I indicated, just wear?

The last image is the best. (keep that setting for that image for future use) But nothing of real note on this coin as already mentioned.
