A bit of a soft strike, but I'll go with MS-61.

A 1916 Standing Liberty quarter?!? This is one heck of a collection! I love the diversification, and can appreciate the knowledge behind what it takes to learn and purchase so many neat coins. I haven't looked at enough SLQ's to give an opinion for the grade, but can share a few observations. It looks MS, and it has a very granular surface texture. The only way I can get one of these is if it is dateless lying a junk bin.

I'd say low Unc (61/62).
It looks like it has been in the "blue bath tub" a few too many times over the past 40+ years and it has impacted the luster.
Still a nice coin no matter what it grades! Congrats on a nice pickup!

Lovely coin. I think @westernsky sums it up well, though I could see a 63 here.

The coin has a solid strike. looks to have been dipped. A nice example for the date. MS63

Too bad about that granular skin . Strike seems good in some areas and not so good in others . But one thing I must comment on : How bout them toes ? MS-63 .

Is this a raw purchase?
I'd agree it's been dipped. I'm at MS63

i like this one NS even though the obverse strike is a a little on the weak side the reverse is quite nicely struck up. surface preservation is off the chart. A few minor ticks on the legs and arm. the glare could be hiding other small ones. its not easy to find a nicely struck up eagle. it may have had a light dip but not enough that I can see to reduce the grade by several points as several folks have stated. i'd be surprised if this one graded less than MS64 and no matter how you look at it, its a nice coin

The surface granularity we see in the fields on these 16 and 17 SLQ's is pretty normal. You see it a lot on some of the 16 and 17 WL half dollars, too.
Some people find it attractive, some don't. Personally, I like it.

Beautiful coin! I'm thinking MS64.

No, the coin is not raw. Not many higher grade '16 slqs in the wild these days.

Guessing the pics don't show the luster well.

Even though the 2nd set of pictures is blurry, I put them up just to show that the coin does actually have luster.
